Seamless Surface Material Calculator
Cement-free seamless surfaces for walls, floors and wet areas.
Enter your project area and where it’s going. The calculator returns the recommended TERRAZZO GraniTech system — primer through sealer — with standard coverage and waste allowance included.
How this calculator works
The calculator takes your project area, applies the coverage rate for the specific products in the system you selected, multiplies by the coats that system requires, and adds a 10% waste allowance. It returns every component your system needs — mesh through sealer — in the pack sizes we ship.
It estimates materials only. It does not include labor, tools, substrate preparation products, or freight.
At 1/8 inch, the strength isn't in the thickness. It's in the system.
What drives coverage
Coverage is not one figure. It changes with:
Substrate. Porous, rough or absorbent surfaces draw more material, particularly at primer stage.
Reinforcement. A build with fiberglass mesh takes more material than one without.
Applied thickness. Our rates assume 1 mm for Fine and Medium and 2 mm for Microterrazzo. A heavier hand uses more.
Coat count. Some systems and some colors need an additional pass.
Position in the system. Primers, finishes and sealers do different jobs and go on at different rates — a primer covers far more ground than a finish coat.
We measure our coverage rates in our own workshop, at those thicknesses, and the calculator applies the correct rate for each product in your selection rather than a single average. They are careful estimates, not guarantees — real coverage varies with substrate and technique.
What's included in a system estimate
A TERRAZZO GraniTech installation is not one product. Depending on the system you select, an estimate returns:
Fiberglass mesh — reinforcement against cracking.
Primer — the mechanical bond to your substrate.
Monolith (resin-bound systems) — the UV-stable binder that holds the aggregate. It stays clear under sun exposure, so the stone reads true outdoors as well as in.
Stone (resin-bound systems) — the aggregate itself, from twenty options.
FlowTech (resin-bound systems) — anti-stick agent. Keeps the mix releasing cleanly from tools during laying, so the surface closes flat.
Finish — TERRAZOO GraniTech Fine or Medium, in the grain you selected.
Pigment — color, dosed to the finish quantity.
Sealer — the protective topcoat. Sheen and protection vary by application; anti-slip is specified for wet and exterior areas.
Not every system uses every component — a wall in Fine is a shorter stack than a Micromosaic floor. The calculator returns only what your selection requires, and keeps that system intact.
Why waste allowance is included
Every hand-troweled surface has losses — material left in the pail, on the hawk, on the trowel, and in the corners.
Running short mid-application is the one thing you cannot recover from cleanly: a batch break shows on a continuous surface. Ordering slightly over is far cheaper than the alternative.
Coverage rates by product
Measured coverage rates are published in a table under each product in the shop, alongside coat counts and substrate requirements.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much microcement do I need for a bathroom?
TERRAZZO GraniTech is not a microcement — it is a granite and acrylic resin system — but it covers the same applications and delivers the same aesthetic, without the cracking and darkening that cement-based systems are prone to in wet areas. Quantities depend on the area, the finish, and whether you’re covering walls, floor or both. Enter your square footage above and the calculator returns the full system for your selection.
How thick is a finished TERRAZZO GraniTech surface?
TERRAZZO GraniTech Fine, Medium and Microterrazzo finish at approximately 1/8″. Monolith and Micromosaic are resin-bound surfaces and run thicker, at 0.4″ to 0.6″.
How many coats does TERRAZZO GraniTech require?
It varies by system, substrate and surface. A wall over sound drywall takes fewer passes than a floor over existing tile, and deeper colors can need an additional coat. The calculator applies the coat count for the system and application you select, so the quantities it returns already account for it.
Does the estimate include shipping?
No. The estimate covers materials only. Shipping is calculated at checkout based on weight and destination.
